Beginning on 2012, <\/span>\u201cSAKURA COLLECTION<\/span>\u201d create and announce the works, with which Japanese and other countries<\/span>\u2019 designers collaborate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Competent designers of all over the world make their works for this collection, using Japanese materials. From this year, we will be able to order online their collection. We interviewed Sabrina from ELOHIM SABRINAGOH, who designed, for <\/span>\u201c<\/span>SAKURA COLLECTION<\/span>\u201d<\/span>, a asymmetrical dress, using <\/span>\u201c<\/span>SOLOTEX\u00ae<\/span>\u201d<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please tell us about your brand SABRINAGOH and about you as designer.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Founded in 2009, ELOHIM BY SABRINAGOH (AKA SABRINAGOH) draws inspiration from the divine creator.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the constant interplay between men’s wear and women’s wear, ELOHIM purifies and subverts conscious detailing from both ends of the spectrum. Every collection expresses a distinct voice to present innovative explorations that meditate on each season’s thematic inspiration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent accolades, appearances and international collaborations include Mickey 90th Birthday, Minnie Rocks The Dots, Star Wars Episode 9 and Rogue One, Vogue Fashion Night Out Bangkok, participation in International fashion trade shows and Fashion Futures 2015 X Singapore Fashion Week showcase and CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, ELOHIM’s goal remains, to present an inspired view on design.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that the garments of SABRINAGOH express beauty by cutting and details without using excessive decoration. What was the reasoning behind that?<\/span><\/h4>\n

I draw<\/span> inspiration from architectural form, sculpting strong and yet sensuous silhouette that celebrates confidence in wearer from inside out. Retaining <\/span>my<\/span> minimalist aesthetic, the clothes are made focus in lines and silhouette.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your preference to the colors, patterns, and textures of textiles?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Every season theme and colors are different. However, I prefer to use different texture of textile to cut and sew the design to bring out the characteristic of the material.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you get involved in the \u201cSAKURA COLLECTION\u201d this time?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Worked with <\/span>\u201cSAKURA COLLECTION\u201d previously and I will be presenting a capsule collection featuring my signature designs in Japanese textiles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please tell us the concept of these dresses design (dresses using \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d).<\/span><\/h4>\n

The collection is inspired by artisanal structure of clay art. In the constant interplay between men’s wear and women’s wear, SABRINAGOH purifies and subverts conscious detailing from both ends of the spectrum. Every collection expresses a distinct voice to present innovative explorations that meditate on each season’s thematic inspiration. Structural shapes and weave patterns are used to recreate collection silhouette and drapes in each design.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think that SABRINAGOH’s garments, including the dresses using \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d, are often asymmetrical. Please tell us about the reason and design effect.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I often like to play with asymmetrical shapes and symmetric shapes to bring out the contrast of both.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your intention to use the pattern used in these dresses? (dresses using \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d)
\n<\/span>Why did you use\u00a0these Japanese traditional Kimono obi textiles for these dresses? Why did you use them like this?<\/span><\/h4>\n

All 3 dresses that created are using \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d and cut and sew with Japanese traditional Kimono Obi textiles. <\/span><\/p>\n

I thought the kimono pattern will be very nice to cut and sew in such a way that highlight the design details.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever designed clothes with the theme of “Japan” or used Japanese materials?<\/span><\/h4>\n

We work with a textile supplier of Japan for many years. Using their Japanese print for our collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What kind of impression do you have of traditional Japanese materials and materials that use Japanese advanced technology?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Japan has a rich culture history for textiles and I have been to the weaving and dyeing companies in Kyoto to learn about their craft process. To have technology impart into textile is incredible, it enables textile to perform and bring out the best of the material for wearer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes. I think it is good that it is soft and smooth and has excellent stretchability.<\/p>\n

Did the use of \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d this time have any influence on your design?<\/span><\/h4>\n

My designs do not changed much as the \u201cSOLOTEX\u00ae\u201d material suitable to make the designs. It flows nicely with the cut and silhouette.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is important to you when designing garments?<\/span><\/h4>\n

The most important to me is the material must be comfortable, good weight and form.<\/span><\/p>\n
